BOSTON – Atlantic Hockey America released their players of the week for Jan. 26 – Feb. 1 slate of games.
Berlin Lolacher was tabbed as the AHA Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career. This is the sixth-consecutive week the Lakers have had a skater win a player of the week award.
Lolacher has made waves since beginning her freshman campaign in September. The Laker's first game of the season was against No. 5/6 Minnesota Duluth. Lolacher scored an equalizing goal in the second period and assisted another goal in the same period. This wasn't the only time she scored against a ranked opponent. In fact, four of her eight goals and six of her 16 points this season are against teams ranked in the top nine in the nation.
In October, she scored the lone goal in a 1-1 draw with No. 8/9 UConn. In November, she recorded an assist in the Laker's lone goal against No. 1 Wisconsin. In December, she had one of her four, multi-point games of the year as she scored one and assisted two in a 10-1 win over Lindenwood. In January, Lolacher had one of the biggest games of her career. She scored two powerplay goals in a 4-3 win over No. 4 Penn State.
This past weekend, Lolacher assisted the game-winning goal and scored the fourth goal in a 4-1 win over Delaware. She also netted a goal in the final second of the first period in game two. Additionally, she was 55.6% on her 18 faceoffs.
