Lakers Announce 2025 Field Hockey Schedule

6/19/2025 3:00:00 PM

Erie, PA – The Mercyhurst Field Hockey team has officially announced its schedule for the 2025 season. Entering their second year as a Division I program in the Northeast Conference (NEC), the Lakers will kick off their campaign with a four-game road stretch.

Their road stretch begins with a trip to Kent State on August 29th, followed by back-to-back matchups against another MAC opponent, Central Michigan, on September 5th and 7th. They close out their road stretch against an Ivy-league opponent in Cornell on September 12th. All three opponents are new faces for Mercyhurst as they did not face them in their inaugural Division I season.

The Lakers then return home to Saxon Stadium to face a familiar conference opponent, Merrimack, on September 19th, before hitting the road again. They will visit Tyler's Field, home of Colgate University, on September 21st — a rematch from last season when the teams met there on September 22nd. Mercyhurst continues its road trip with conference matchups against LIU on September 26th and Wagner on September 28th.

Following their second road trip of the season, the Lakers return home to face another conference opponent, Rider, on October 3rd — the same team they opened their first Division I season against last year. The Lakers will then continue their conference home stand with a matchup against Stonehill on October 10th. The Lakers briefly step out of conference play on October 12th to face Atlantic 10 opponent La Salle at a neutral site.

Mercyhurst steps back into conference play on October 17th at home with a matchup against Fairfield. Just a few days later, the Lakers hit the road again to face St. Francis on October 19th and Sacred Heart on October 24th. They return home one final time on October 28th to host D'Youville at Saxon Stadium.

With a Halloween road trip, the Lakers visit the NEC's newest member, New Haven, on October 31st before closing out their regular season at Lock Haven on November 2nd.
