Erie, Pa.- Mercyhurst got back into action Thursday morning with a 6-1 loss against Binghamton. The match was just the second NEC match of the season for the Lakers, and they'll still be searching for their first conference win. It was also their sixth straight loss.
How it Happened:
The Lakers kicked the match off with doubles play.
Danylo Rekun and Sviatoslav Koiladynskyi fell in the No. 1 slot to William Morais Binnie and Ronin Lotlikar 6-3.
Colm Schultz and
David Mengher played in the No. 2 slot and dropped their match in a 6-4 contest to Kyle Weekes and James McPherson. Lukas Cabue and
Mykhailo Polishchuk also fell 6-4 as Binghamton earned the doubles point.
Danylo Rekun fell in singles action 2-6, 2-6 to Binnie. In the No. 2 slot, Cabue lost 4-6, 6-0, 3-6 to Lotlikar. Schultz also dropped his match in a tight contest 4-6, 6-4, 6-10. Koliadynskyi picked up the lone point of the afternoon in a 6-0, 6-4 decision over Andre Ajed. Derek Wisnes and
David Mengher also fell as the Lakers dropped the match 6-1.
Next Game:
Mercyhurst will be back on the road next week to take on St. Bonaventure and then will return home for Senior Day on Saturday against Edinboro.
