Erie, Pa.- Mercyhurst is ready to head back on the road for their second NEC series of the season. The Lakers will be on an eight game road trip that will begin in Delaware State. It will be a three-game set that will be played on Friday and Saturday and then they'll head out to Youngstown State on Tuesday.

Swinging for the Fences:
The Lakers have had a tough start to the 2025 season. They've posted a 2-13 record through their first 15 games of the year. But they've also seen some encouraging play.
Eric Chorba leads the way with a .275 batting average and 14 hits. He's started in 14 games so far and has been the most consistent player at the plate.
Chandler Powell has the most runs batted in with seven, including three from his three run blast. On the mound, Aidan Kelly and
Jacob Bazala have put together some solid starts to the season. Kelly has a 1-2 record through four games started with 19 strikeouts. He led the Lakers to their first Division I home win this past weekend. Bazala has registered an impressive 28 strikeouts, including seven in their win over Coppin State. He also earned the save in that game. Â

Scouting Delaware State:
Delaware State has posted a 2-9 record to begin the season. They kicked off their NEC schedule with a series against Maryland Eastern Shore this past weekend and were only able to grab one win. Brandon Boyd and Brady Daniels have led the way offensively with 11 and 10 hits, respectfully. But Daniels has driven in a team-high nine runs on four doubles in the young season. Michael Lane has led the way on the mound with 2.25 ERA and he's allowed just 17 hits through four appearances.

Scouting Youngstown State:
Youngstown State is just 1-13 in 2025 so far. They've lost nine straight, but they'll be home against Milwaukee this weekend as they'll be aiming to turn things around. Kyle Fossum has been a force on offense as he's posted a .396 batting average, recorded 21 hits and hit four home runs. The Lakers will be looking to shut him down.

Mercyhurst will be on the road for a trio of matchups in Delaware before they make their way to Youngstown. Game one kicks off tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. and game two will be at 3:30 p.m. The action this weekend can all be caught on the NEC Front Row. Â Â
