Nick Cappozzi drove in Thomas just a couple batters later before Arnold got out of the jam and left a runner on base. Landon Diber got one back for the Lakers after he singled to bring in
Jack Malec. The Bulldogs made sure that Arnold had a short day in the bottom of the second though. Ryan Kennell was able to end his day after he drove in a run on a single. On the same play, Gardner-Webb capitalized on an error to make the score 4-1 through two. In the third inning, neither team was able to register a hit. Matt Ilgenfritz and Lawson Knight each drove in a run to give themselves a 6-2 lead that would also stand as the final.
