Erie, Pa.- The Mercyhurst Women's tennis team finally got back into action Friday night when they hosted Le Moyne. The 5-2 loss served as their first ever Division I home game and first ever NEC matchup.
 
How it Happened:
The Dolphins swept the Lakers in double action to kick off the match. The reigning NEC doubles champions, Kayla Dean and Roisin Murphy, played in the one slot and fell 6-3 to Ella Fernando and Feriel Mahbouli. In the two spot, Daria Rogova and Andjela Mrvaljevic dropped their contest 6-4 and Sarah Bertolez and Kiersten Brown fell 6-1.
 
In singles action, Kayla Dean continued to prove why she's one of the best in the NEC. She grabbed a 6-3, 6-0 win over Charlotte Klein. It was one of just two wins on the night for Mercyhurst as Rogova grabbed the other in a 6-2, 6-3 decision over Mahbouli in the No. 2 slot. The Dolphins closed things out with wins in the in remaining four slots to secure the NEC win over Mercyhurst.
 
Next Match:
The Lakers will be back in action next week and will take the court three times. They'll take on Daemen Wednesday, February 19^th before they take on Cleveland State on February 20^th.
