The Mercyhurst volleyball team enters the seventh week of NEC play, set to play back-to-back matches on the road against Le Moyne.

Previously From The Lakers:
The Lakers were on the road to faceoff against NEC opponent Central Connecticut State, splitting the series. Mercyhurst lost the first game 3-1, but followed with a 3-1 victory of their own the following day.

The Watchlist:
Mia Mattingly won her second NEC Prime Performer of the Week honor in just as many weeks for the Lakers. She recorded 13 blocks and 10 kills last weekend against Central Connecticut State. Mattingly averages just over a block per set, which is fifth in the NEC.

Julia Shepherd continues to be an offensive threat for the Mercyhurst. In her last two matches, she obtained 18 kills, eight blocks and seven digs. Her .276 hitting percentage is top 10 in the NEC.

Roslyn Guerra was a key contributor for the Lakers last weekend, obtaining 17 kills, 12 digs and two blocks. She is ranked third on the team in kills with 153, and looks to add on to that number.

A Closer Look:
  • Le Moyne is 3-9 in NEC play, with two wins against Chicago State and a win against Central Connecticut.
  • Setter Haley Gerken ranks fifth in the NEC with 5.6 assists per set.
  • In 2024, the Lakers swept the Dolphins, winning matches 3-2 and 3-0.
