ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst Men's ACHA team hosted the Buffalo Bulls for a prime time Sunday matchup at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. The Lakers were looking for a crucial home win before returning to league play the following weekend.

Connor Bridges earned the net for this matchup, his 3
rd start of the season.

In the 1
st period, Buffalo scored a goal six seconds into an early power play after the Lakers received a holding penalty. The Bulls then managed to score another goal at 9:10, leaving the score at 2-0. The Lakers then went on the power play at 11:48, but were unable to find the back of the net.

At 1:05 in the 2
nd, Buffalo scored, but the Lakers were able to hold off the Bulls for the time being.
Riordan Sjovold scored his 7
th goal of the season at 11:57 thanks to an assist coming from
Nicholas Botzenhart. Buffalo answered with another goal a minute later, but rookie
Evan Peters scored his first career collegiate goal at 16:42 with the assist coming from Sjovold. At 17:39, Buffalo answered again and left the score at 5-2 heading into the 3
rd period.

The Bulls managed to earn a power play goal at 13:45 into the 3
rd period and eventually scored the final goal of the game at 15:02.

The Lakers would fall 7-2, with Bridges stopping 43 of his 50 shots faced.

The Blue and Green will next travel to S&T Bank Arena to face off against the Crimson Hawks of Indiana and then host the Mountaineers of West Virginia the following evening. Puck drops are set for Friday, November 7 at 8PM and Saturday, November 8 at 6PM respectively.
