BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Three standouts from the Mercyhurst football team have been selected to All-NEC Teams. Running back
Brian Trobel and wide receiver
Dylan Evans earned first team honors while offensive lineman
Blake Hoegler was named to the second team.

Trobel was crucial to the Lakers offensive efforts all season. The Mentor, Ohio native rushed for 983 yards and 1,116 all-purpose yards, averaging 81.9 rush yards per contest. Trobel scored 13 touchdowns on the year with four multi-touchdown games.

Trobel's 12 rushing touchdowns led the NEC. He finished second in the league in rushing yards (983) and yards per game (81.9).

He had four games with over 100 rushing yards, including a career-high in each of his last two games of the season. Trobel rushed for a career-best 150 yards against Robert Morris and then 166 yards at Central Connecticut the following week.

Trobel ended his two-year Mercyhurst career with 1,428 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.

Evan made an instant impact for the Lakers, transferring in from New Hampshire as a redshirt sophomore. The wide receiver finished the year with 584 all-purpose yards (571 receiving) with five touchdowns.

The Orchard Park, New York native recorded two games with over 100 receiving yards and another with 95 yards. Evans scored caught the game-winning touchdown pass at Saint Francis and recorded a long reception of 53 yards in that game.

Evans' 47.6 receiving yards per game were fifth most in the NEC.

Hoegler was a key member of the offensive line in his junior season, playing in 11 games. He helped the offense average 343.9 yards per game, the third most in the league, excluding New Haven. Hoegler helped Mercyhurst to a 39.6 third down conversion percentage, second best in the league.
