ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst ACHA Men's Hockey team hosted the RIT Tigers over the weekend for their first of two meetings the season. Freshman goalie
Henry Hunt was tapped to enter the crease for this ACHA matchup, his 4
th game of the season.

The first period was a quiet one with neither team logging penalty minutes nor a goal. Despite this, the Lakers led the shot total, firing 14 while RIT managed to get six on net.

In the second period,
Zachary Sullivan started the period with a goal 1:50 into the frame, netting his second goal of the year. The Tigers would proceed to score three unanswered goals, one of which was on the power play. With under six minutes remaining, freshman
Riordan Sjovold scored his second goal of the year with an assist coming from fellow rookie Nathan Chuung, his third of the season.

The Lakers failed to net any more goals in the 3
rd period while RIT fired 3 into the net, one of which was at an empty net. The Blue and Green would go on to lose the game 6-2 despite dominating the shot total 41-26.

Hunt's record drops to 3-1, as well as maintaining a strong GAA of 2.27 and a save percentage of 0.930.

The Lakers will next travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats for a pair of games Wednesday, October 8
th and Thursday, October 9
th.
