Indiana, Pa.- Mercyhurst made the trip to a familiar location on Saturday when they competed in the IUP Duals. The Lakers had an impressive outing. 

How it Happened

Kayla Dean showed up for the Lakers and set the tone with a win 6-2, 6-0 win in her first match of the day against Senior Lieselotte Hartlohner of IUP. Dean also picked up a win against Salem's Erna Brdarevic with a 6-7(8-10), 6-3,10-5 score. Sophomore Daria Rogova grabbed a win over Senior Dani Ramos 6-4, 7-6(7-2) in a strong outing. Roisin Murphy had a good day as she strung together a pair of wins. The first came over Brdarevic in a 2-6, 6-2, 10-8 battle. In her second match she defeated Veronica Sirci 3-6 , 6-4, 10-7. Sophomore Mollie Gray snagged a victory in a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Graduate Student Miriam Buendia. Uliana Nedelko had the final singles win of the day for the Lakers with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Buendia. The pairing of Dean and Murphy picked up the lone doubles win of the day in a 7-5 match against Hartlohner and Annemiek Sterk of IUP 

Next Game 

The Lakers are back in action in a little under two weeks at the NEC Tournament that start on September 20th.
