Box Score Pittsburgh, Pa.- The Lakers made their second trip of the season to Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon. This time they matched up with Power Four opponent, the Pitt Panthers. Mercyhurst dropped the game 7-0 as they continue to look for their first win at the Division I level.
How it Happened
Pittsburgh's fierce attack picked up right where they left off on Thursday as Senior Sarah Schupansky scored for the Panthers less than a minute into action. Schupansky has given teams headaches all season, and she continued to do so against the Lakers. She assisted on Pitt's next two goals. Junior Magali Gagne and Graduate Student Grace Pettet scored the Panther's next two goals. Gagne scored the final goal of the first half and added on her third of the day with 20 minutes left in the game. Senior Samiah Phiri and Junior Margaret Wilde scored the final goals of the matchup.
Highlights
The Lakers have continued to get a lot of players experience as they continue along their tough schedule to begin their quest in Division I. Graduate Student Chelsea Radicia registered seven saves in the first half. Senior Kate Costantini and Freshman Rylee Kumer also saw time in net during the matchup.
Next Game
Mercyhurst is back action in four days when they travel to Milwaukee for a matchup with Marquette. The game is the Lakers last game of their seven-game road trip to open up their first season in Division I. Action kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th.
