Keep on Traveling:
The Lakers completed their fourth and fifth road games of the season this past week. Things didn't get an easier for them while they were west. Mercyhurst dropped their contest against the highly touted Dayton Flyers 9-0 before traveling to Northern Kentucky where they would drop a close match 2-1. The Lakers have two road games remaining on their seven-game road trip to begin their Division I quest.
Lakers Leaders:
Sophomore
Camille Bultel joined Freshmen
Rosie Bandura and
Annaliese Black in the goal category as Bultel scored a putback goal in the closing stages of their game against Northern Kentucky. The three are tied for the most goals on squad with one a piece. Graduate Student
Alyssa Poleski leads the Lakers in minutes played with 412 and Senior
Karah Van Horn is second with 330 minutes on the pitch. Graduate Student
Chelsea Radicia heads Mercyhurst with 30 saves in net.
Scouting Pitt:
Mercyhurst will be taking on their second ACC team of the 2024 season when they travel to Pittsburgh to play the Panthers. Pitt currently sits at 5-1-1 and they're on a four-game winning streak. Seniors Sarah Schupanky and Samiah Phiri lead the Panthers with four goals each this season. The Lakers defense will need to be at their best in order to stop Pitt's strong attack.
Next Game:
Mercyhurst and Pitt are set to play at 1:00 p.m. this Sunday, September 8th. All the action can be caught on ESPN+.
