Erie, PA-Mercyhurst University is excited to announce the addition of two standout coaches to the Women's Lacrosse program. Madison Phillips joins as a Graduate Assistant, and Kersten Daneau takes on the role of Defensive Coordinator. Both hires bring a wealth of experience and leadership that will be instrumental as the program prepares for its upcoming season.
Kersten Daneau, a seasoned coach with a proven track record at Southern New Hampshire University, will take charge of the defensive strategies as the Defensive Coordinator. Daneau's expertise in goalie training and defensive tactics helped her previous team achieve unprecedented success, including consecutive playoff appearances and multiple all-conference selections. With extensive experience working with goalkeepers and defenders, Daneau is set to make an immediate impact on Mercyhurst's defense.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Kersten to Mercyhurst University. Kersten will be our Defensive Coordinator this season," said Weaver. "She brings a ton of knowledge to our goalkeepers and defenders that will make an immediate impact on our program. Her work ethic, Lax IQ, and passion for the game are all qualities that made her a perfect fit!"
Madison Phillips, a former National Champion at the University of Indianapolis, brings a competitive edge to the coaching staff. As a decorated player, Phillips won the 2022 National Championship and earned multiple All-GLVC honors during her collegiate career. Most recently, she has been an integral part of Homegrown Lacrosse, serving as the Assistant Program Director for their ChiLacrosse programs and assisting in coaching camps, tournaments, and training sessions. Her playing experience and strong background in lacrosse operations make her a dynamic addition to the team.

She knows what it takes to be a competitive student-athlete and will bring a competitive mentality to our practices.
