Emma Cimino netted her 100th career goal as the Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team (3-11, 3-5) fell to RMU (5-11, 2-4) in a closely contested matchup 12-10.
The game commenced with
Maggie Allen securing the goal for the Lakers.
Whitley Easton opened the scoring with a goal at 10:12, assisted by
Camryn Trybuskiewicz, marking her 45th goal of the season. The Green and Blue extended their lead when Cimino netted her 32nd goal of the season at 7:50.
The Colonials responded with a player-up goal from Amanda Dolis at 7:08, assisted by Greta Burns, followed by another player-up goal from Mia Berthoff at 3:26. Despite this, the Lakers regained the lead with just under a minute left in the quarter as Trybuskiewicz scored, assisted by Easton. The quarter concluded with Mercyhurst leading 3–2.
The Lakers responded decisively after RMU took an early lead in the second quarter with a goal by Madison Prietz. Easton tied the game at 3–3 with a free position goal at 9:25. Following a back-and-forth exchange, Cimino found the net at 2:22, assisted by
Nicole Hetzer, to bring the Lakers back to a 5–4 lead. Despite a late equalizer from Burns of Robert Morris, the quarter concluded with the score tied at 5–5.
Easton sparked Mercyhurst's performance in the third quarter with an early goal at 13:38 from a free position shot, bringing her season total to 47. Despite a turnover, Easton quickly regained possession and later scored again at 8:23, marking her 48th goal of the season. RMUresponded with goals from Berthoff and Dolis, briefly taking the lead. However, the Lakers managed to tie the game again at 7–7 before Robert Morris scored once more. The quarter concluded with Robert Morris leading 8–7.
The fourth quarter saw the Lakers rally late but ultimately fall short against the Colonials. After the Colonials capitalized on a player-up advantage to extend its lead, the Lakers responded with a goal from Cimino at 8:24. Despite a clock violation and turnover, Easton found the net at 3:06, narrowing the margin. Cimino added another goal from a free position shot at 2:13, bringing the Lakers within striking distance. However, the quarter concluded with Mercyhurst trailing 12–10.
Easton led Mercyhurst with five goals and six draw controls, making a significant impact on both ends of the field. Cimino contributed four goals on six shots on goal, showcasing her efficiency in front of the net. Trybuskiewicz added a goal and an assist, playing a supportive role in the offensive lineup.
Katie Gleason anchored the defense by causing three turnovers, providing crucial stops for the team.
The Lakers hold an overall record of 3–11 and a conference record of 3–5. They will close out the 2026 season at LIU Saturday, April 25.
