Box Score Milwaukee, Wi..- Mercyhurst ended their seven-game road trip with a 4-0 loss to Marquette on Thursday night. The Lakers will now return to Saxon Stadium, where they'll be looking to get their first win in Division I play.
How it Happened
Mercyhurst and Marquette had an even match through the first 15 minutes of action. Ultimately, Marquette broke through before the Lakers could though. In the 15
th minute, Senior Tess O'Connell beat Graduate Student
Chelsea Radicia for the first goal of the game. The Golden Eagles stayed on the attack and Sophomore Carly Christopher buried another ball just four minutes later.
The second half saw things continue to roll Marquette's way. O'Connell scored her second goal of the day just four minutes in. Sophomore Madison Sievering registered both of the Lakers' shots on goal as they attempted to cut the lead 60 minutes into action. Senior Brooke Bisko capped things off for the Golden Eagles with a goal in the 85
th minute.
Highlights
The Lakers completed a tough seven-game gauntlet to begin their Division I journey. Although they were unable to come away with a win, Mercyhurst has now seen nearly everything they may encounter in their first season in the NEC. Head Coach
