Fairfield, CT- Mercyhurst Field Hockey is set to face NEC opponent Fairfield University on Sunday, October 6th at 12:00 PM.

Laker Outlook 

Mercyhurst is just over the halfway point in their season and they are prepared to take on the challenges that lie ahead. They have been playing well offensively lately, scoring two goals against D'Youville University on September 25th and forcing an overtime matchup. Although they ultimately fell to the Saints, those goals were a huge confidence booster for the Lakers. Mercyhurst's total goals are led by Rachel Kosowski, who has two on the season, and Delfina Magro and Lola Williams, who each have one goal so far. Assists for the Lakers are led by Marina Evert and Catherine Hudak, who each have one on the season. Defensively, the Lakers have racked up 117 saves, with goalkeeper Kayla Desormeau having 105 saves already this season. Jen Kemp leads Mercyhurst in defensive saves with four so far. The Lakers have an overall record of 0-8 and a conference record of 0-4. Mercyhurst is ranked 9th in the current NEC Field Hockey Standings. 

Scouting Fairfield

Fairfield University has an overall record of 3-5 this season and is 0-1 in the NEC, as they lost to Rider by one on September 27th. They recently beat the University of Maine by a score of 2-1 on September 29th. They have scored 11 goals this season and have 33 saves. Their leading goal scorer is Konni Hofmann, who has three goals this season. The Stags are ranked 5th in the current NEC Field Hockey Standings.
