Box Score Teaneck, NJ.- The Mercyhurst Women's Soccer team bounced back in their matchup against Farleigh Dickinson with a 1-1 draw on Thursday afternoon. The Lakers played to their second conference draw against a team who was tied for first in NEC entering the day.
How it Happened
Neither team managed to get a shot off until FDU's Laura Martinez missed a shot wide nearly ten minutes into the matchup. That was the story of the first half for the Knights as they got off eight shots, but of the eight just two were on goal. On the other hand, the Lakers had just three total shots in the period, but they made the most of them, with Senior
Karah Van Horn sinking Mercyhurst's lone shot on goal to give them the 1-0 advantage.
The second half was controlled by FDU. The Knights put Graduate Student
Chelsea Radicia to work in the final 45 minutes, registering 13 shots with nine of them on goal. Radicia managed to record eight saves in the second period, but with eight minutes to go, Ana Salas finally put one in the back of the net for FDU.

Van Horn got the Lakers on the board early in the match. Van Horn now has three goals in the 2024 season, which is tied for the most on the team with Graduate Student
Emily Mijares. Van Horn is now just one goal shy from the 25
th of her collegiate career. Radicia and the Lakers defense showed up on Thursday after their 2-0 loss at home to Central Connecticut. Radicia had 10 saves, which was her most in any contest so far this season.
