North Easton, Ma.- In the final road game of their first Division I season, the Mercyhurst Lakers fell to Stonehill 3-0. It was the ninth time in the 2024 season that the Lakers were shutout. 

How it Happened 

The Lakers had a few chances in the first half to bury the ball in the back of the net, but the Skyhawks fended off a two minute attack. Graduate Student Emily Mijares had two shots, one of which almost snuck in the left corner. It wasn't until 20 minutes later that the 0-0 tie was finally broken. Erin Foley buried a penalty kick to give Stonehill a 1-0 lead. Foley scored again two minutes later off assists from Hannah Anselmo and Kayla Cassidy. The second half featured just four shots from the Lakers as they failed to make a comeback. Freshman Adri Lika played the second half in net and managed to make a save on eight shots faced. Anselmo buried the final goal of the game in the 81st minute as she added extra insurance.
