Conshohocken, PA- Mercyhurst Field Hockey fell to La Salle University today by a score of 6-0.
How it Happened
The Lakers played an excellent first half, as they totaled three saves and allowed one goal in the first quarter. They continued this energy in the second quarter, as they had two saves and held La Salle scoreless, making the score 1-0 going into halftime. In the third quarter, Mercyhurst had three impressive saves. However, La Salle overcame the defense as they scored two more goals, leading the Lakers 3-0 going into the final quarter. Despite having a hard-fought game and making two more saves, Mercyhurst could not hold on as La Salle scored three more goals, ending the game with a score of 6-0. Offensively, Catherine Hudak and Maddie Huffer each had one shot. Goalkeeper Kayla Desormeau made 10 saves on the day.
