Erie, PA- Mercyhurst Field Hockey fell to Long Island University today by a score of 7-0.
How it Happened
In the first quarter, Mercyhurst made seven impressive saves. However, LIU scored three goals in the quarter to make the score 3-0 going into the second quarter. The Sharks scored once more in the second, while the Lakers had three saves, making the score 4-0 going into the half. The third quarter brought similar results, as LIU scored two more goals despite Mercyhurst's four saves, making the score 6-0 going into the fourth. The Lakers held LIU to only one goal in the game's final quarter and had two saves, ending the game with a 7-0 final score. Junior Delaney Lentz and freshman Skylar Sarge racked up two defensive saves each and senior Allyson Doran made one defensive save. Senior goalkeeper Kayla Desormeau totaled 10 saves on the day.
