Teaneck, N.J. – The Mercyhurst Lakers Volleyball team faced off against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday evening, falling in three sets (22-25, 15-25, 19-25) at the Bogota Savings Bank Center. The Lakers drop to 2-11 overall and 1-2 in NEC play, while Fairleigh Dickinson improves to 13-5 overall and 3-0 in conference action.
How It Happened:
The first set was a competitive battle, with both teams exchanging leads multiple times. Paige Miller and Andrea Zaric led the Lakers' attack, but Fairleigh Dickinson pulled ahead late to take the set 25-22. Mercyhurst hit .267 in the first set but struggled to sustain momentum.
In the second set, Fairleigh Dickinson took control early, capitalizing on Mercyhurst's errors. Despite solid efforts from Brice Hansen and Kaitlin Murphy, the Lakers were unable to close the gap, dropping the set 25-15.
The third set saw Fairleigh Dickinson continue their strong play, while Paige Miller once again led the Lakers offensively with a match-high 16 kills. However, it wasn't enough, as the Knights secured the match with a 25-19 victory.
