ERIE, Pa. - Sara Boucher has been named Captain of the Mercyhurst Women's Ice Hockey team.

Head Coach Michael Sisti commented, "Sara is an awesome student-athlete and joins a long list of fantastic captains that helped direct our team. She leads by example and plays with pride all the time." He added, "Sara is well respected by our staff and her teammates. We are looking forward to next season."

Boucher has been an essential forward to the team and adorned the title of Assistant Captain last season. 

Throughout her career at Mercyhurst, Boucher has skated in 89 contests. She has netted an even 50 goals and tallied 47 assists for 97 points. 

Most recently, Boucher was named to the All-CHA Second Team. 

Boucher stated her excitement, " It's an honor to be named the Captain of the team. The girls have a great work ethic, and I'm proud that they look up to me as a leader. We have great potential, and I'm excited to see where I can help get this team to."
