Danielle Grim has been named the PSAC West Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week. The Mercyhurst Women's Basketball team is on a six-game winning streak with recent wins over Kutztown and Tiffin University. The Lakers have showcased stellar defense, holding opponents to only 53 points a game. Danielle Grim has been a main contributor on the defensive end, proving to be a force on the glass and making it tough on opposing offenses.  

Grim is currently leading the Lakers in rebounds with a total of 73. Grim has collected 65 defensive rebounds so far this season and posted a career high 13 in the win over Tiffin. Aside from Grim's offensive prowess, she also leads the team in blocks and steals. So far this year, Grim has tallied 12 steals to go along with 12 blocks.  

The Mercyhurst Lakers are now preparing for back-to-back home games as they welcome Westchester and Millersville on December 18th and 19th. Grim and the Lakers will look to remain undefeated in PSAC play.
