FORT COLLINS, CO – The Mercyhurst women's basketball is set to host Binghamton in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) Thursday at 6 p.m. The Lakers earned the automatic qualification from the NEC after earning the 2 seed in the NEC Tournament.

here. High demand is expected, so students should claim their seat early.
Thursday's game will be the first national Division I postseason appearance for the Lakers since making the transition from Division II, with the Lakers and the Bearcats meeting for just the second time. The two programs clashed for the first time in the 2000-01 season.
The Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament began in 1998 with 16 teams playing for a postseason crown. The event has undergone four expansions throughout which its mission has remained the same: To give deserving teams a quality opportunity to play exciting games for a postseason title.
