Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst Men's and Women's Golf teams finished up day two of their respective tournaments at Whispering Woods Golf Club. The men finished up the Howard "Bud" Elwell Fall Classic, while the women finished up the Michael Corbett Fall Classic.
Evan Rowane led the way for the men's team today, shooting a 69 in round two. That score was tied for the lowest round in the entire tournament. After shooting 75 in round one and the 69 in round two, Rowane finished in second place in the tournament, shooting even par through two rounds. Darien Swanson finished in a tie for eighth after shooting 73 today, following his first round 76. Aidan Fong shot 76 today, which is a nice bounce back from an 81 in round one. This place Fong in a tie for 27th. Tyler Thomas finished in a tie for 39th after shooting 78 today. Mac Deitrick shot 86 which put him in a tie for 50th. As a team the men finished in fifth place with a team score of 611. For the Lakers B team, Matthew Spadacini shot 76 which put him in a tie for 24th. John White shot 79, which put him in a tie for 39th.
Isabella Walter led the way for the women's team, shooting an 80 in round two. Walter's 80 today followed her 84 yesterday, which put her in a tie for 14th. Sofia Carrizosa shot 81 today after an 83 yesterday. Carrizosa also finished in a tie for 14th. Alyssa Ballaro finished in 16th place after shooting 81 today. Kymberly Henry shot 83, which put her in a tie for 23rd. Lauren DeArment shot 84, which put her in a tie for 29th. Everyone on the women's team shot better on day two than they did on day one. The women finished in fourth place with a team score of 663.
Next up for the men's team is the PSAC Championships on October 20-22 at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pa. For the women's team, they will participate in the Clarion Fall Invitational on October 15-16 at Pinecrest Country Club in Brookville, Pa.
