Boston, Ma. - Mercyhurst rowing wrapped up a solid day on the water in the Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, October 22nd. The Lakers saw a couple of top ten finishes in their first races of the 2023-24 season.
How it Happened
Men's Lightweight Four's had the first competition of the day. The boat was comprised of Ralph Kasow (1), Djordje Gruber (2), Ivan Katic (3), Ingmar Van de Griek (4), and was captained by Emily McCauley. They finished with a time of 17:14.659, coming in 7th place right behind Harvard's A team.
Women's eights competed second with a boat of Teagan Spracklen (1), Tabea Wieland (2), Autumn Kearny (3), Elizabeth Northrup (4), Blythe Lyons (5), Erin Jackson (6), Ann-Kathrin Mueller (7), Maclain Zajicek (8), and Seanna Zona as the captain. They finished sixth out of thirty-five teams with a time of 18:23.536 behind Wesleyan.
Men's fours rounded out the day as Dylan MacLean captained a boat Matthew Wnek (1), Nathaniel Harris (2), Mitchell Fussell (3), and Elias Koudounas (4). A time of 18:36.348 saw them place 23rd.

The Women's team is set to be back on the water next weekend in Geneva, New York as they participate in the Challenge on the Canal on Saturday, October 28th.
