ERIE, Pa. - Women's hockey finished their homestand against Syracuse today, Jan. 29, 2023. 

They tied the game with a final score of 1-1. With this series over, the Lakers now stand in second-place in the CHA with 13 points.

How it Happened

First Period

The first period was scoreless, with the Lakers leading shots on goal, doubling the Orange, 15-8. 

Second Period

The goaltenders were doing their job in the second as no goals were put in the nets. Ena Nystrøm faced six shots, while the Lakers attempted 22 shots on goal.

Third Period

The Orange put a power play goal on the board at 4:22. 

Kylee Mahoney drew the puck off the faceoff and passed it to Liliane Perreault. She scored a bar-down goal at 8:52.

Overtime

With the score at 1-1, the teams went into three-on-three overtime. No team capitalized on a goal, so it ended in a tie.
