Erie, Pa.—The Mercyhurst Women's Golf team finished in second place on Saturday at the Evann Parker Memorial at Lake View Country Club. The host Lakers shot 327 the final day and found themselves 27 shots behind Gannon when the dust settled.
Sofia Carrizosa was the low Laker, shooting 80 on the day with a split of 41-39. Her total of 168 placed her in a tie for 19
th.
Isabella Walter was next up for Mercyhurst with a second round 81. She tied with teammate
Alyssa Ballaro for seventh at 159 for the 36 holes. The duo were the Lakers top finishers for the tournament.
Ballaro's 83 on Saturday was matched by two other teammates,
Lauren Dearment and
Kymberly Henry. Dearment and Henry also found themselves in 19
th with Carrizosa.
Playing as individuals
Lena Jones and
Hannah Mensch posted 174 and 181 respectively. Mensch fired 86 on the final day and Jones 89.
The Lakers are back in action tomorrow at Whispering Woods for the Gannon Fall Invitational.
