BLACKLICK, Ohio— Sofia Carrisoza paced the Mercyhurst Women's Golf team with a second round 77 as the Lakers shot 336 at the NC4K Classic. Mercyhurst finished in 12
th place in the 19 team field. No. 9 Findlay won the event by 25 shots, shooting even-par 288 on day two.
The Lakers sat in ninth after the first day with a score of 341 and even though they dropped five shots on day two, slipped three spots to 12
th.
Carrisoza, who was one of three Lakers to shoot 85 in the opening round, started her day on the par-three eighth and was one over through four. After playing the last seven holes on the back at five over, she made her way back to the front nine and buoyed herself. A birdie on the second hole was the highlight of an even-par 36 on the front, on her way to a T-28 finish.
Isabella Walter clocked in next for Mercyhurst with an 83. Her day started with a birdie on the eighth, before moving to the inward nine and shooting 39. Some struggles after making the turn again landed her T-45 for the event with a 168 total.
The Lakers scoring was rounded out by
Kymberly Henry and
Alyssa Ballaro who both shot 88 on day two. Henry split was 45-43 as she finished T-63, Ballaro had matching 44s in the second round and finished T-59.
Lauren Dearment rounded out the Mercyhurst lineup, shooting 89 in the second round. Her 179 total put her tied for 73
rd for the event.
The Lakers are back in action when they host the Mercyhurst Invitational on Thursday, April 14, at Lake View Country Club.
