Philadelphia, Pa.—The Mercyhurst women's rowing team sent the eights team to the Division II East Regional Invite to face two of the other top teams in the region.

In their first of two races of the day the Lakers took the win over Jefferson who is second in the region behind just the Lakers. They are also tenth in the country while the Lakers are the top team in the country. Mercyhurst turned in a time of 6:36.51, Jefferson finished the race with a time of 6:37.42.

The Lakers were back in the water as they lined up against Jefferson and Franklin Pierce who is third in the region. The Lakers had bigger margin of victory in this race as they beat Jefferson by five seconds and Franklin Pierce by almost a minute with a time of 6:39.73.

All three Laker rowing teams will be back in action next Sunday at the Mid-America Collegiate Rowing Association Championships in Grand Rapids, MI.
