WHISPERING PINES, N.C.—The Mercyhurst Women's Golf team got back in the swing of things on Friday with 36 holes at the Brown Golf Invitational. The event served as the lid-lifter in the Lakers spring season.
Mercyhurst posted a total of 676 (343-333), good enough for fifth. Ferris State won the team title with a score of 640.
Sofia Carrizosa was the top Laker performer with scores of 84 and 81, good enough for T-9.
Kymberly Henry was right behind her in T-13 with a 168 total (85-83).
Isabella Walter was the next Laker on the leaderboard coming in T-26 with scores 87 and 85.
Alyssa Ballaro rounded out the scoring for Mercyhurst with a 174 total and a T-33 finish.
Lauren Dearment was the other Laker starter, posting scores of 87 and 94.
Lena Jones shot an 85 as an individual in the second round to boost herself to T-38 for the event.
Hannah Mensch was the other individual for the Lakers, coming in 60
th.
