Youker Earns Second Straight ECC Honor

Central Islip, N.Y. – Haley Youker continues her dominate run to being the new season for Mercyhurst Women's Bowling as she claims her second ECC Bowler of the Week award in as many weeks with her work in the Bearcat Open.

Youker led the ECC in frame average (22.07) by 2.0 pins after an MVP performance at the Bearcat Open in Fairview Heights, Ill. She led the way in the traditional format with an average of 223.50 over five games and thanks to her spectacular performance the Lakers placed second in the tournament, defeating several ranked teams on the way. Their highlight win came in the semi-final when they beat third-ranked Nebraska. Youker also led the ECC in Baker game's frame average with a mark of 21.83 and finished second in the conference with a 65.4% strike percentage with 85 strikes on 130 tosses.

Before her run in the Bearcat Open, Youker led the way for the Lakers during the MOTIV Penguin Classic, knocking down 1,728 pins overall across seven games for an average of 216 pins per game which was good enough for third in the event. The native of East Syracuse, N.Y. began her performance with a score of 234 in her first game and followed that with a tournament-high of 268 in game two and then 254 in game three. Her performance played a major role for the Lakers as they were able to hold their own against some of the top teams in the country, finishing fifth in the tournament.

The Lakers are scheduled to travel to Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday, November 5th to participate in Medaille Brunswick Invitational. It will be their last tournament of the fall part of the season.
