Erie, Pa.—The Mercyhurst Field Hockey fell in their first PSAC home game of the season against No. 4 Millersville by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.
How it Happened
The Marauders opened the scoring early in the game as they scored just 41 seconds into the game to take the early lead.
After the opening 15 minutes, Millersville had an 6-0 shot advantage while they also earned three corners in the opening frame.
In the second quarter neither team scored despite five shots from Millersville. At halftime the Lakers were being outshot 9-0.
Millersville scored their second goal of the game just under two minutes into the third quarter to double their lead. In the third quarter alone Millersville earned 10 penalty corners.
Mercyhurst could not respond for the rest of the game as they generated just a single shot in the game. Fenna Klok accounted for the only shot as Lakers only drew one penalty corner in the game.
Kayla Desormeau made 16 saves in the game, it is her fourth game this season in which she has made 10 or more saves.
The Lakers are back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Indiana to face the Crimson Hawks at noon.
