Erie, PA—The Mercyhurst Men's Soccer team will be back on the pitch Wednesday to take on the Daemen Wildcats.
The Matchup
Daemen and the Lakers have played twice with the first time being in 1985, the last time the Lakers played the Wildcats was 2018 with Mercyhurst winning 4-2.
What's Poppin
The Lakers are currently on a three-game winning streak after defeating UDC 4-2, Shepherd 6-0, and Salem 3-0. Jonathan Gomes has earned two clean sheets in his last two starts. The Laker offense has caught fire and have scored 13 goals in the last three games. Nevado Elliott is leading the team in goals with six, Dylan Sumner has three goals and eight points.
It Was A Good Week
Each week the PSAC announces an offensive and defensive player of the week for division within the PSAC. Elliott was named PSAC West Offensive Player of the Week while Gomes was named Defensive Player of the Week. Elliott scored four times this week including a hat trick against Salem on Saturday. Gomes faced five shots over the two contests this past week.
Conference Call: Incoming
Wednesday will be the final non-conference game before the Lakers play three straight PSAC West games. The Lakers play Seton Hill, UPJ, and Cal (PA) before playing their final non-conference game against Le Moyne on Oct. 12.
Scouting Daemen
The Wildcats enter the match with a 2-2 record with wins over Malone and D'Youville. Trey Bauscaglia leads the Wildcats with two goals and an assist through the first four games. Marcos Lerma Escobar has been the loan keeper in net as he made 21 saves.

The Lakers have the weekend off and will start conference play on Sept. 29 at Seton Hill.
