The Mercyhurst University Field Hockey team matched up against #8 Stonehill College Sunday afternoon. Stonehill defeated Mercyhurst by a score of 4-0.
The Skyhawk's first tally of the contest came just 53 seconds into the first quarter. Stonehill finished off scoring in the first half when a Skyhawk attacker deflected in a loose ball with 2:08 remaining in the first half.
In the second half,
Alexandria Shumsky placed two shots on net for Mercyhurst, however neither found the back of the net.
Jenna Cavalieri had the other Laker shot on goal.
Stonehill went on to score two additional goals in the third quarter finishing the scoring for the match.
Freshman keeper
Kayla Desormeau started her fourth game in net of the season. She stopped nine shots in 60 minutes of action.
Next up for The Lakers is a PSAC contest at IUP on Wednesday, Sept. 22. The match will take place under the lights at IUP, start time is set for 7:00 p.m.
