The Mercyhurst University Field Hockey team suffered a 4-0 defeat to PSAC opponent IUP on Wednesday evening. The game was plagued by bad weather with rain falling for the majority of the evening.

IUP scored its first goal of the contest five minutes and 54 seconds into the first quarter. This was the only scoring during the first half of action.

The Crimson Hawks rallied off three consecutive goals in the third period to put them ahead 4-0. The last of the goals came with 1:27 remaining in the quarter.

Kayla Desormeau made the start in goal for Mercyhurst. She made 11 saves on 15 shots faced.

Up next, the Lakers will welcome East Stroudsburg University to Saxton Stadium on Sunday. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
