CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Sophomore Sofia Carrizosa edged out teammate Isabella Walter on the third playoff hole to earn medalist honors at the University of Charleston Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Berry Hills Country Club.
The Lakers shot a 327 as a team in round two and finished in second place overall with a 629 for the tournament.
Carrizosa shot an 80 in round two after a first round 73 for a 153. Walter matched that 153 by shooting a 77 on Monday and 76 on Tuesday.
Kymberly Henry tied for 10th with a 158. Lauren Dearment shot an 84 in round two and finished with a 165 to finish 20th. Alyssa Ballaro finished in a tie for 25th with a final score of 168.
The Lakers also had two individuals compete with Lena Jones shooting a 170 overall for a share of 32nd. Hannah Mensch finished in 50th shooting a 189.
The Lakers return to Lakeview Country Club for their home tournament on Friday and Saturday.
