Women's Golf Leads After Day One of Charleston Invitational

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Mercyhurst women's golf team had a record-setting day shooting a 302 on the day to hold an 11-stroke lead after the first round of the Charleston Invitational hosted at Berry Hills Country Club. 

The team score of 302 was the Lakers best 18-hole performance by 10 strokes. 

Kymberly Henry tied the Mercyhurst school record with a one under 71 to lead the tournament two strokes ahead of Sofia Carrizosa who posted a 73. 

Isabella Walter tied for fourth with a score of 77 while Alyssa Ballaro and Lauren Dearment each shot 81 to tie for 11th. 

Competing as individuals, Lena Jones notched an 85 to tie for 29th and Hannah Menschis in 49th with a score of 94. 

The Lakers will finish the Charleston Invitational with a round on Tuesday.
