FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Mercyhurst women's tennis team took four singles matches to edge host Fairmont State 4-3 in regional action Sunday afternoon. 

Emily Gordon picked up a win at number three singles 6-3, 6-1. Valentine Budin swept her number four singles match 6-1, 6-1. 

Alana Lewis picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number five singles. Janice Theodora was the last to finish and delivered the decisive win 6-1, 6-2 at number six singles. 

The team of Budin and Theodora also scored a 6-3 victory at number three doubles. 

The Lakers are back in action on March 27 when they host Cal Pa. at the Westwood Racquet Club.
