Men's Hockey Falls to New Hampshire in Ledyard Classic

Hanover, N.H.—The Mercyhurst Men's Hockey team fell 7-1 in the consolation game of the Ledyard Classic to the New Hampshire Wildcats.

Owen Norton opened the scoring at the 13:05 mark of the opening period on a shot from the point. Gueorgui Feduolov and Cade Townend each earned assists on the goal.

UNH scored twice in the opening period as Hank Johnson made 20 saves in the first 20 minutes.

The Wildcats scored two more in the second period and three in the third as the Lakers had 30 total shots in the game.

Goaltender Matt Lenz saw his first collegiate playing time as he made eight saves in the third period. Johnson finished with 21 saves.

The Lakers were 0-4 on the power play and killed two of three UNH power plays.

Mercyhurst has a quick turn around as they will open the new year on Jan. 4 as they travel to Oxford, OH to take on Miami (OH).
