Hanover, N.H.—The Mercyhurst Men's Hockey team opened the Ledyard Classic with a 4-2 loss against No. 20 Boston College.
How it Happened
The Lakers scored the first goal of the 32nd Annual Ledyard Classic as Gueorgui Feduolov scored at the 9:08 mark of the opening frame. Austin Heidemann and Rylee St. Onge had the assists as the third best power play in the country scored their 20th power-play goal of the season.
Just under six minutes later BC scored to tie the game at one. After 20 minutes of play shots were even as Hank Johnson made 12 saves in the opening frame.
Period two consisted of the Lakers generating nine shots while BC scored twice on their 13 shots. Johnson had 22 saves through 40 minutes.
BC scored once in the third to make it 4-1. With less then three minutes remaining in the third period Heidemann finished off a beautiful passing play from Feduolov and Dante Sheriff to make it 4-2.
The Lakers couldn't complete the comeback, Johnson finished the game with 33 saves as Mercyhurst generated 30 shots on goal.
Battle of Special Teams
The Lakers scored once on their six chances while also allowing a shorthanded goal. The Laker penalty kill, was four of five down a man.

The Lakers will play the loser of Dartmouth and New Hampshire tomorrow at the either 4:00 PM or 7:30 PM. If Dartmouth loses the Lakers will play at 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
