The Mercyhurst University Field Hockey team was back in action on Friday afternoon to compete against PSAC East opponent Millersville University. The Marauders defeated the Lakers by a score of 6-0.
Kate Strickland scored two goals for Millersville in the first half. Her first shot went in at the 4:53 mark in the first quarter. The second was placed in the back of the net with 5 minutes to go until halftime.
Millersville took their 2-0 into the halftime break with them.
Kayla Desormeau started in goal for the Lakers, the freshman keeper made 16 saves in the first half.
Kate Strickland began the scoring in the second half to give her a hat trick. Stricklands third goal of the contest came two minutes into the third quarter to make it 3-0 Millersville.
The Marauders scored an additional two goals in the third quarter, and then closed out the game by scoring one in the fourth to make the final score 6-0.
Desormeau finished the game with 21 saves to her total.
Alexandria Shumsky had the lone shot on goal for the Lakers.
