Men's Lacrosse Sweeps G-MAC Players of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Men's lacrosse junior attackman Caleb Kueber and redshirt senior goalie Hunter Emerson swept the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Players of the Week honors after the fourth-ranked Lakers 10-6 come from behind victory on the road over No. 11 Wingate University as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Kueber, a native of Victoria, British Columbia tallied five points in the win.  The junior accounted for four goals and an assist to help the Lakers overcome a 5-3 halftime deficit.  Kueber was responsible for knotting the game up at 5-5.  He is coming off a season in which he was the G-MAC leader in goals per game and second in points per game to only teammate Devin Pipher.

Emerson, a local product out of North East, Pennsylvania and Cathedral Prep High School backstopped Mercyhurst to the triumph making 13 saves and recording a ground ball.  Over the final two frames he allowed just one goal late in the fourth quarter.  Last season, he averaged over eight saves per contest.

The Lakers will return to action this Saturday, February 15 when they host Lewis University in their Home Opener at 11 am.
