GREENSBURG, Pa. -- The seventh-ranked Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team defeated Lake Erie, 13-9, in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals on Thursday at Seton Hill. With the win, the Lakers (12-3) advanced to their third straight GMAC final.

KEY NUMBERS

• Caleb Kueber was the leading goal-scorer and point-getter for the Lakers, finishing with three goals and one assist for a total of four points. Kueber leads the team with 46 goals in 2019.
• Devin Pipher added one goal and two assists. He now has a team-high 73 points on the season.
• Nathan Grenon contributed one goal and one assist.
• Single goals were registered by Dan Kritkausky, Benjamin Smith-Wilcox, Dom Perna, Jarrett Cook, Evan Schumacher, Haden Bates, James Rettinger and Justin Sale.
• Nicholas Bartone made an assist.
• Evan Schumacher was dominant in the faceoff circle, winning 19 of 24 draws. He had eight groundballs.
• Will Agate came through with five GBs and two caused turnovers on defense.
• Hunter Emerson was the winning goaltender, totaling 10 saves and seven groundballs.

GAME SUMMARY

• The Lakers went on a five-goal run in the first quarter and tacked on a sixth score to take a 6-0 lead early in the second period.
• After Lake Erie came back with its first two goals, MU answered with two itself to head into intermission up, 8-2.
• Eight different goal-scorers contributed to the 8-2 hafltime lead.
• The Storm (4-10) closed its deficit to four in the fourth quarter, but that was as close as LEC was able to get.

• The two-seed Lakers will meet one-seed/host Seton Hill (12-3) in the GMAC Tournament final for the third straight season. The contest is scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m.
• Since the GMAC began sponsoring men's lacrosse in 2017, SHU has won the only two championships.
