Women's Ice Hockey Skates to 1-1 Tie with Penn State

Box Score UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie with Penn State during College Hockey America action on Friday.
 
Maggie Knott scored while Kennedy Blair tallied an assist for Mercyhurst (12-12-4, 9-5-1).
 
Katie McMillan scored for Penn State (10-12-7, 4-8-3).
 
After a scoreless first period, Knott scored her fourth goal of the season to get the Lakers on the board first. Blair passed the puck up to Knott who skated it over the blue line and went bar-down. 
 
With 42 seconds left in the second period, McMillan scored to tie the game at 1-1.
 
The game eventually went into overtime and ended in a 1-1 tie.
 
The Lakers went 1-for-5 on the power play while the Nittany Lions finished 0-for-4.
 
Blair made 21 saves in net for Mercyhurst while Jenna Brenneman made 27 saves for Penn State.
 
Both teams are back in action Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
