ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University men's hockey team will host No. 15 Ohio State at the Mercyhurst Ice Center Friday and Saturday night. Puck drop for both nights is 7:05 p.m.
The Lakers are 2-2 overall and coming off a bye week. The last time out, Mercyhurst split a pair of games with visiting St. Lawrence winning 3-2 in overtime in the opener and falling 3-2 in the finale.
Both teams have been successful with the man advantage. The Lakers are ranked 10th nationally with a .278 power-play percentage. The Buckeyes are close behind with .240 percentage good for 15th in the country.
Dalton Hunter has led the Mercyhurst offense with six points on two goals and four assists.
James Anderson is the team leader in goals with three to go with two assists for five points.
Steven Ipri and
Josh McDougall each have one goal and three assists for four points.
Garrett Metcalf has made all four starts between the pipes for the Lakers posting a .914 save percentage and 3.03 goals against average.
Ohio State averages 2.25 goals per game while allowing 1.75. The Buckeyes are coming off a split with Omaha winning the opener 3-2 before falling 2-1 in the finale. Matt Miller lead the Ohio State offense with five points on two goals and three assists. Tommy Nappier has made all four starts in net with a 1.73 goals against and a .942 save percentage.
