ERIE, Pa. -- For the first time in school history, Mercyhurst University hockey fans can purchase beer inside the Mercyhurst Ice Center for both men's and women's ice hockey. 

"In an effort to continue to improve the fan experience, Mercyhurst is pleased to sell beer to continue building our game day atmosphere," said Director of Athletics Brad Davis. "With a very big weekend ahead against a Big Ten nationally-ranked opponent in Ohio State, we anticipate having a sellout crowd at the Ice Center." 

Beer sales will be open to all patrons 21 years of age and older at the beer station located next to the concession stand. Sales will begin 60 minutes prior to puck drop and continue until the beginning of the third period. Fans can pay with cash or credit card with beer starting at $4. 

A limited number of tickets are still available for all games including this weekend's contests with Ohio State. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online here or starting 90 minutes prior to the game at the Ice Center.
