The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey opens College Hockey America action on Oct. 18-19 when it welcomes RIT to the Mercyhurst Ice Center. The puck drops at 6:50 p.m. on Friday and 3:05 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Time Out
Mercyhurst welcomed non-conference opponent Sacred Heart to the MIC for a two-game weekend series and came away with a 5-3 win on Friday and 9-0 win on Saturday.

Last season the Lakers and Tigers matched up four times during the season and the Lakers came out on top 3-1 on the series.

At RIT, the Tigers took the first game 4-2 before the Lakers won 3-2 in overtime.

Later on in the season, Mercyhurst swept the weekend series at the MIC, 4-0 and 2-1.

For the Lakers Nuutinen, Knott, Vasko, Pinto, Nelles, Thiessen, Dobson, Isbell, Robillard, Marmen and Perrault recorded points during the four-game series. In net, Blair – 47 saves and had one shutout.

For the Tigers, Logan Land, Eliie Larson, Madison Itagaki, Jordan Marchese, Hunter Barnett and Taylor Sims tallied points. In net, Terra Lanteigne made 129 saves.

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series 25-5-0 against RIT. The Lakers are on a three-game winning streak against the Tigers, including a 9-1-0 edge in the last ten games.

Scouting the Tigers
RIT is coming into the weekend series with a 0-3-1 record. The Tigers are coming off of two losses, 4-1 and 3-0, to St. Cloud.

Emily Stemple is on top of the roster with three points. Abby Davis, Justine Larkin and Baker have three two points each.

In net, Lanteigne has played all four games for the Tigers. She has a 3.23 goals against average and .920 save percentage.

CHA Player of the Week
Dobson was named the CHA Co-Player of the Week. Dobson recorded two goals during the Lakers 5-3 win over non-conference opponent Sacred Heart on Friday. Early on in the third period, she scored a shorthanded unassisted goal to give Mercyhurst it's led back. She then scored the last goal of the game on the power play.

She added a goal and an assist during the Lakers 9-0 win over SHU on Saturday. Dobson assisted the fourth goal of the game and then tallied the last goal of the game.

Laker Firsts
Morlock and Schauer both recorded their first collegiate points with one assist each on Saturday.

Silvonen saw action in her first collegiate game on Saturday as well.

Mercyhurst will head to Buffalo, N.Y. for the Ice Breaker Tournament on Oct. 25-26. The Lakers will play Minnesota Duluth on Friday at 4:30 p.m. before taking on either UConn or Colgate on Saturday at either 4:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
