YOUNGSTOWN, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's bowling team earned its first ever win in program history on Saturday at the Columbia 300 Penguin Classic.

Mercyhurst totaled 3,768 pins in its five Traditional matches on Saturday. Combined with the 3,754 total from the five Baker matches, the Lakers totaled 7,522 pints for a game average of 150.4. The Lakers went 1-4.

Mercyhurst started with a 772 in the first Baker Match and went 748, 675, 804 and 755 in Baker matches 2-5 respectively.

For the traditional matches, the Lakers started with a 782 and went 753, 699, 807 and 727 in the four next matches respectively.

This marks the Laker's first season of play. The first ever roster includes,Â

The Lakers will conclude the tournament Sunday. Another positional round will complete the day, and the total pinfall through Friday and Saturday's qualifying rounds will determine the seeding for bracket play on Sunday.
